The Workforce Development Leadership Initiative prepares leaders in economic and workforce development to create new strategies to enhance their community's workforce capacity. This is a 6-month program consisting of four courses. In October, teams from around North Carolina journeyed to Raleigh for their first 2-day course.
I created and facilitated the first session, the Introduction to Workforce Development Policy. The goal of the session was to provide participants with an understanding of the policies which constructed the foundation of the current workforce development system and give participants tools to understand the policy complexity.
